Emily Lowell, PhD, joined the faculty of the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in 2011 after completing her doctorate in school psychology at the University of South Carolina in Columbia. She earned her bachelor of science degree in psychology, summa cum laude, from the University of Maryland in College Park. A nationally- and state-certified school psychologist, Dr. Lowell's clinical interests are neurodevelopmental disabilities, including autism, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities and ADHD. She also serves children with chronic health conditions, with an emphasis on pediatric HIV.

My daughter already had an Autism diagnosis. I did not need another provider to do an assessment. We should have just received a DSM-5 sign off like I was told.
