Leah Avary Somerville, DO

Leah Somerville, DO, is a pediatric physician with special interests in newborn medicine. Dr. Somerville grew up in Northern Virginia and played collegiate soccer while obtaining her bachelor of science degree at the University of Mary Washington, where she also met her husband.

She received her medical degree from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia. Dr. Somerville then completed her pediatric residency at Prisma Health in the Upstate where she found her passion in taking care of very young children.

Becoming a mother during her second year of residency solidified her decision to pursue a career in newborn medicine. She thoroughly enjoys caring for a newborn in the first few hours and days of life, and embracing and guiding the families who are welcoming these children into this world for the first time.
