Leah Marie McCartt, MD

Leah McCartt, MD, has been practicing psychiatry for more than 23 years. Dr. McCartt completed her medical degree in 1996 at the University of South Carolina (USC). She continued her psychiatry residency and her child and adolescent fellowship training with USC. Dr. McCartt is board certified in general psychiatry as well as child and adolescent psychiatry.

Dr. McCartt has expertise in treating a wide range of psychiatric conditions including depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and anxiety disorders, and PTSD. She maintains a special focus on the treatment of ADHD and medication management for patients with autistic spectrum disorder.

Dr. McCartt feels the foundation of well-being is rooted in good mental health. She feels all areas of functioning are negatively impacted when mental health is not attended to, as she recognizes the intricate interplay between physical health and mental health.

As a provider, Dr. McCartt prefers to have a collaborative role with her patients. She feels a primary duty of all physicians is to advocate for those in their care.
