Matthew B. Nodelman, MD, is a board-certified family medicine physician with Prisma Health Family Medicine Center. Dr. Nodelman grew up in Columbia, SC, and graduated from Spring Valley High School before earning his undergraduate degree at Presbyterian College where he was a captain of the baseball team. He completed his medical degree at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC, and residency training at TriHealth’s Bethesda Family Practice in Cincinnati, Ohio. After residency, Dr. Nodelman was happy to return home and serve his community here in Columbia.
Dr. Nodelman approaches patient care with a compassionate personality and strives to develop personal connections with his patients. During residency, he developed a passion for teaching and medical education. In addition to practicing general family medicine, Dr. Nodelman is a member of the attending faculty for the Family Medicine Residency program at Prisma Health–Midlands and an assistant director for the third-year medical students’ Family Medicine Clerkship at UofSC School of Medicine.
Outside of work, Dr. Nodelman is an avid sports fan (Go, Gamecocks!) and likes to remain physically active and travel to the beach and the mountains. He enjoys spending quality time with his wife, son and other family and friends.

The staff work with each other on one accord. From receptionist, nurse They work professional, very kind and treat you with kindness. primary Doctor answered every question with respect, professional and he listen, you feel so much better to know that they care. I will be happy to recommend other.

There is always room for improvement in everything but during my visit I had absolutely no issues and it was a perfect doctor's visit per usual. Great care team here. 10 out of 10 highly recommend!!!

Dr. Nodelman and his assistant always professional and concern about our well being. My husband and I both are his patients and we are thouroughly pleased with the care we are receiving.

I have to say if there is any room for improvement I wouldn't be the patient to notice it because my nurse and doctor take EXCELLENT care of me. It's not easy to find the patience and attention the give someone in my condition. They don't make me feel like I'm just another wheelchair coming for med refills. They are driven with the mindset of not just the best way to treat my obvious condition but how and what it is they can do to improve my condition. They allow me to lay all my concerns on the table. And with my speech situation I know it's not easy but I can see both my nurse are truly attentively listening to me.. NEVER interrupting or finishing my sentences like so many medical practices I've been treated at before being blessed with Doctor Nodelman. Him and my nurse are BOTH God sends.

I can't think of anything offhand - I've been seeing Dr. Nodelman for a while now and trust him implicitly. I would say the same about the nurse too.

I wish most likely if the doctors will pretty much just listen to what the patient is saying in regards to how they are feeling and what they are going through. Like, just don't assume that this is what's going on with the patient. Just listen more to what the patient is telling you, right? Exactly what's going on with them.
