Richard Gregory Lucarelli, DO

Richard Lucarelli, DO, is an experienced, board-certified family physician providing outpatient care in a compassionate office setting. Born and raised in New York City, he earned his medical degree at Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine. He then completed his family medicine residency at Spartanburg Regional, where he won multiple awards.

After two years of practice in a Virginia underserved community health clinic, Dr. Lucarelli returned to Spartanburg for 27 years at a hospital-owned practice. He worked another four years in a Florida underserved area before returning to his adopted home state of South Carolina. He is glad to be in the Columbia area with all the resources Prisma Health has to offer.

Dr. Lucarelli is well versed in the management of diabetes, hypertension, depression and adult care. He believes in explaining complex issues in a simple, straightforward manner. He tries to eliminate unnecessary medication and keeps an open mind about outside factors affecting his patient's health.

When not in the office, Dr. Lucarelli enjoys spending time with his family and pugs.
